From newspaper report: "There was only one accident. W. Darrell got into trouble on the reverse camber of one of the bends in Hills Road and spun off. His car, a rather unsuccessful marriage of a Vauxhall motor and the streamlined body used by Hec Green for his well-known red Wolseley, crashed through a fence, side-swiped a telephone pole, bringing down seven of the 12 wires the pole was carrying, and landed upside down across a deep ditch. Darrell escaped with a few scratches." |
